Review on SantaMedical Infrared Thermometers
This is by far the easiest to use thermometer we've ever had, and our children aren't bothered by it at all. It helpfully double beeps when there is a fever, single beeps when not. That said, if you need anything accurate or consistent...I wouldn't trust this. Readings fluctuate pretty widely (we sometimes have to play a game of taking everyone's temperature to get the sick child to cooperate, which means starting and ending on the same person, often with nearly a full degree difference after only a minute). It has been very useful for learning that yes, my child has a fever in the 100.5 - 102 range, needs to stay home from school but doesn't yet need a doctor, situation. Not good if you wanted to track whether it was 101.2 or 101.4 over the course of a day.
