Plastic Is Killing Our Environment

by Laura Newton The Water Filter Lady
Individual use of plastic water bottles has become a multi-billion dollar industry. Not only is bottled water much more expensive than tap water, but there is also a serious cost to our planet.
Recommended Features
  • 1.5 million barrels of oil are used annually to manufacture plastic water bottles.
  • 2 million tons of plastic bottles are land filled every year
  • Only 1 out of every 10 plastic bottles is recycled.
  • Bottled water has to either be pumped out of the ground or treated. Up to 1500 gallons of water are wasted during this process
  • It takes 1000 years for a plastic bottle to bio-degrade!

The thing that really opened my eyes was when I saw the documentary movie "tapped". You wouldnt belive how much plastic ends up in our oceans Kat. Plastic water bottles are one of the biggest threats to our environment. Its heartbreaking, and people really dont have a clue of the dangers its having on our environment. If you guys havent seen the movie "tapped" please take the time to see it. You'll never drink bottled water again.

@Gobindsing... Multi-Pure is a independent distributor program, and we market the carbon block water filtration systems.

Environment = our life. Plastic = knife. We may use plastic as necessary, but we must use it appropriately prudent. Dear Laura, I agree with your opinion.

Plastic is a recyclable material. The senseless over use and over dumping is causing irreversible damage to the environment! If you must use plastic containers, at least recycle them!
