Sotheby's subasta el papel original con las reglas del baloncesto


El documento original con las 13 reglas del baloncesto redactadas por James Naismith el 21 de diciembre de 1891 fue rematado por la casa Sotheby's el viernes en Nueva York en 4,3 millones de dlares, que sern destinados a caridad.


El documento, de dos pginas, fue comprado por David y Suzanne Booth, que piensan exponerlo en la Universidad de Kansas.


David Booth es ex alumno de dicha universidad, de cuyo equipo de bsquetbol Naismith fue el primer entrenador.


Naismith, un canadiense, muri en 1939, tres aos despus de que su juego se transformara en deporte olmpico (en Berln 1936). Invent el baloncesto hace 119 aos, cuando era profesor de educacin fsica en Springfield (Massachusetts, noreste de EEUU), para que los muchachos de su curso pudieran jugar a algo durante el invierno.
