Review on BIO of Larry Page

Larry Page is one of the names behind the Google Company. He cofounded the company along with Sergey Brin. Page is also the inventor of Google's PageRank system. This is the search ranking algorithm and he and Brin both own 16% of Google's stock. In April 2011 he succeeded Eric Schmidt as the new CEO of Google. He is now esimated to be worth $30.4 billion U.S. This puts him currently at number 19 on the Forbes List of Billionaires.

Larry Page was born in 1973 and is a computer scienist and business magnate. His father Carl Page Sr. is credited as being a pioneer in computer science. He was a professor at Michigan State University. Larry's mothers was a college instructor.

He was exposed to computer science at an early age and his home was always liVered with things he could constantly take apart. He was one of the rst kids in his school to use a Word Processor to hand in his homework assignments.

Larry would later enroll in Stanford University in their computer science program. His goal was to understand the mathemaical properies that the World Wide Web was using. He was encouraged to study this concept and a friend, Sergey Brin, would join him in his conquest. This is how they developed the PageRank system that is in existence today.

He has other interests outside of Google and these include invesing in Telsa Motors. He has also invested in renewable energy technologies. Larry also pursues the idea of seeing how digital technology can help shorten our work week and cater to people's needs.

As you may expect Larry Page has had his share of recogniion and awards.

In 2002 he was named as a World Economic Forum Global Leader for Tomorrow. Along with Sergey Brin he was name to the MIT Technology Top 100 Innovators in the world, aged under 35.

One of their top recognition occurred in 2004 when they received the Marconi Foundation Prize. As they were being congratulated, John Jay Elise, the president
