The French automaker says it hopes to launch a ride-hailing robotaxi service by 2022, allowing a vehicle such as the EZ-GO to be ordered through a mobile app or at dedicated pick-up stations.
Renault rolled out the concept car at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, an annual event usually known for exotic new sports cars. Ride-hailing and shared mobility services represent an important opportunity for Renault, especially in cities. Many have aging or very young populations, and people looking for new mobility solutions, said Thierry Bollor, Renaults COO, in a statement.
