This comes as part of a longer-term ambition to convert entirely to electric vehicles to reduce operational CO2 emissions and mitigate climate change. It has already reduced its CO2 emissions by 20% and is targeting a further reduction of 20% by 2020.
Early this year a 1.2 megawatt solar power plant for the companys Amman operations became fully operational. Aramex is currently transforming its Dubai warehouse facility to incorporate similar technology, albeit on a grander scaleonce fully operational it will generate over 7 megawatts of solar power.
