Scams are a serious threat to all of us, especially if you are new to the Internet.
I have been asked on numerous occasions to do something on scams by someone that knows I hate them with a vengeance, and due to a recent exchange I have decided to go ahead with it.

The purpose of this group is to give members a central place to discuss scams.
Primarily those perpetrated through Email, instant messengers (such as PalTalk, Skype, Yahoo, MSN, AIM and any others you can think of), and through the private messaging system of forums and Social network sites.

The posting guidelines are as follows.

Absolutely NO advertising, referral links, or hinting at your favorite protection program in posts by telling us how well you are protected by your favorite program.

To try and keep a little order in the group so people can find things easily I have set up specific threads for the most common ones that appear daily, in some ones email or instant messengers.

I would also like to cover known proven scam programs as well.

However as I will be laying myself open to possible prosecution as the owner of this group, along side the person that initiated the post, if the program owner can prove they are not a scam, I will ask anyone that wants to post about being ripped off by a program first contact me and present your case with documented proof.

I would also ask anyone that has genuine connections to authorities bodies to come forward and assist in doing due diligence on any program that is suspect.

If there is not a thread for the particular scam you have and want to cover please ensure the title of the thread contains the name of the Program it affects.

Last but not least please ensure you are on my contacts list in case I need to communicate privately with you about a particular thread.
You can ask anyone that is on my contact list already and they will confirm I never send ads through the messaging system just as I don't accept ads through it.
