Hello Apsense Friends, this group is entirely to say “Howdy” All we want you to do, if you want to off course, is say hello. Should we have to say this is not for ads? No way, we know everyone just wants to say hello. Everyone needs a break from advertising and what not. So here’s your chance, just say hello. If you want tell us a story about you or your family, we have time. Join our group and let the stories begin. Our Story Time: Long story short, well as short as we can recant: Our Grandfather was with the Royal Engineers in WW2. He and his Brigade were captured in Borneo. They spent the next couple of years just surviving. The one thing they all shared was friendship. This was, believe it or not also shared with quite a few of their Jailors. The war ended ,Grandfather returned to civy life and started his own engineering business ,he was rather successful. 1968 my Grandfather retired quite well to do. But being an active man he had to do something. He got a hobby, (remember them?) C.B or Ham radio as it was also known. I can still remember going to his house and begging him for a turn, a chance to say hello to someone on the other side of the world! (Sound familiar?) But what I also remember where the business cards and post cards he had on his lobby wall. Everyone that he spoke to he asked for and received either a business card or a post card of their area. His favorite was, we hope you guessed it, was one from Japan. These 2 old soldiers actually had a reunion in 1989. Sadly for us Grandfather passed away last year. But his legacy lives on, from his Ham radio friends we received 17,672 telegrams or emails. If that is not spreading yourself around, then I don’t know what is. So let it not be said that I didn’t learn from him. If you have read this far, here is my proposal: send us your business card or, if you don’t have one a postcard will do, and we will return the same. But please remember this is not for business purposes. This will be a hobby to meet other people around the world.
