I created this group in hopes to connect with others who are impacted by, or simply want to learn more about raising special needs children. My 9 year old son has been, informally, diagnosed with Apserger's Syndrome, and I'd love to share ideas, strategies and stories with others in similar situations.

"Not until the middle of the twentieth century was there a name for a disorder that now appears to affect an estimated 3.4 every 1,000 children ages 3-10, a disorder that causes disruption in families and unfulfilled lives for many children." www.nimh.nih.gov/publicat/autism.cfm

I think its important to create awareness and understanding - for the child and adult with Autism Spectrum Disorders. With understanding comes tolerance... and that is what we need more of...

Raising my son has been a challenge, but it has also been a blessing. He has been our inspiration for getting involved in network marketing. Every business we have gotten involved with has been a result of research and seeking a specific product to address his needs. Every child is different, and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder display a wide range of behavior challenges, and unique traits.

I've learned much from other parents in online and offline communities, and I hope that this group will provide us with a place to offer support, suggestions and inspiration!
