Its really just a matter of of choosing food from 6 basic food groups: 1. Wholegrains Brown rice, whole wheat, oatmeal and other non refined cereals 2. Vegetables Choose fresh, organic vegetables whenever you can. But frozen or tinned vegetables are almost as good! You can grow your own veges even if you don't have a big back yard. Most vegetables will even grow in pots on your balcony with a little care and attention. 3. Fruits Fresh, frozen, tinned, dried, stewed, juiced . . . 4. Milk and Dairy While there are other foods that provide some calcium, dairy products are the most concentrated and convenient source. Choose low fat options! 5. Protein Choose from red meat, fish, poultry, eggs, beans, peas, nuts and seeds. 6. Oils There's no need to be afraid of fats! We need a certain amount in our diet to keep healthy. Fresh, high quality fats from olive oil, rice bran oil, avocado, raw nuts & seeds, coconut and fish actually provide excellent sources of healthy fatty acids. more news about Healthy Eating Basics
