Your Brand Marketing Center (BMC) Score Break Down

by Don Dousharm Entrepreneur, Publisher

Since the launch of BMC yesterday I have scene many new branding pages go up. The potential for your business gaining popularity just got so much better and the best part is you are doing it in a manner that is both professional and tasteful.

I have been seeing many questions in discussions on APSense as well as other social platforms as to how it all works for ranking. This morning I had a lengthy conversation with Wincer on just how the point system works so I will attempt to lay it all out for you.

I am basically putting down in this article what Wincer has relayed to me. I will be glad to try and answer any questions you may have but I am sure I don’t have all the answers. This is good because we all get the chance to clarify just how everything works.

The score is based on 5 factors

1. Content Score

The first is The Content Score. This is based on 2 parts. Web Content for a maximum of 80 points and Video Content for a maximum of 20 points, In all this will equal to a total value of 100 points.

Notice:

Article Ranking

Article points are a little different, if you add a web from an important site, for example Wikipedia you will get 5-6 points and if the web is from the site in the top 100k you will get 1-6 points based on the site rankings. If your web is from the less important site, the points are less.

Quote From Wincer:

“Our db stores top 100k websites, and update monthly. Our logistic is that if many big sites talk about your brand, your brand value will be increased. Content Marketing is for quality not quantity.”

2. Shares Score

Shares Score is based on how many shares for your official website. The number of shares is from social network sites and the max points are 200, but it does not mean 200 shares.

Quote From Wincer:

“We put them together then use “pow method” to get the final value. For example, 100 from Google, 100 from Facebook then we get the sum value = 200 and use 200 ^ 0.xx  to get the final value, anyway, the more shares, the higher value you will get.”

3. Fan Score

The next factor is similar to shares score but it is based on fan score. It counts how many followers you have on your Facebook page and Twitter account.

You can get a maximum of 100 points. If you have fans more than 250k, you will get full points. BMC script will check your Facebook and Twitter; they must include your brand name in the account info. or the brand page does not earn any point from them. This is something you will need to look into with your accounts.

4. Likes Score

The next is The Likes Score. This is based on how many people on APSense like it. One like adds 0.5 points for a maximum of 50 points.

5. Review’s Score

Now we will get into The Review Score. This is based on how many reviews with at least 4 stars on Worthreferral. One review adds one 1 point, You get a maximum of 50 points.

Ok this just about sums up the point ranking for BMC. I am sure there will be lots of questions but the basic outline is here and without getting into the inner workings of data functions and the like this should be very helpful.

I have one other thing to discuss as this question was brought to me more than once and that is how to add your links to the Webs Section of BMC. Your brand must be very carefully thought out and here is why.

Quote from Wincer:

“We check the web page whether talking about your brand based on the page Title, and h1, h2 elements in that page. You need to make sure that your fan page or twitter account is including "Your Brand Name" in the about or description info.”

On my next article I will be clarifying in more detail any questions that I hear around the social hangouts and country club… Lol. Just Kidding! But as I clarify certain points I will be sure to write about them.

Thank you for reading. I hope this is informative for you…

One suggestion, Don: please write "Brand Marketing Center" in the title and put BMC between parentheses, since BMC doesn't mean anything to the people who will see our tweets and shares

Thanks for this article Don! What I am still missing (looks as if I am blind) - where can I find/see the BMC sites from other members?

Hi Rieke, I sent you a pm because it won't allow me to put the link here. I didn't see the link in the add on services as of yet but I'm sure it will be there.

Thanks Daniel! I have a feeling that this new app will catch on very quickly and blow anything else out there like it out of the water...

Thanks to Philippe and Don. Yep, @Philippe: this is my problem with the new site format of APSense... As I am using the sidebar bookmarks in Firefox, I never see the whole site :( unless I change this.... therefore I didn't see the links on the right sidebar :) Also a way of 'blindness' :)))))

Rieke, I have no idea what you're talking about. I clicked CTRL-B to have the bookmarks on the left of my screen, and I still see the whole APSense homepage. Are you using some kind of add-on for your bookmarks? I always use FireFox

Rieke, look for a minimize button perhaps a + or - on your bookmarks sidebar. If you have a bookmark sidebar loading there is always a minimize button somewhere...

Don, thanks for your tip. The solution for me is: ctrl+b .... a little bit annoying but now I am used to it :)
