Fundamentally,business studies teacher at the elementary level will tell his students that one of the major obstacles to setting up a good business is lack of fund.This was the idea that most of us grew up with and which really limited us and blurred our vision at knowing that the statement is relative and not totally true.

Lately,I discovered that some of our young school leavers are also falling into this trap that beset so many that have been around for a while.

Recently, a young man walked right into my office for counselling. A graduate of Accountancy working at an office in the Federal Capital of Nigeria,(Abuja). He came down to Ibadan where I live on holiday but was at a verge of decision whether to go back to his office or find another job. His major problem was that he was earning a take home package that coul barely take him home.(#50,000). From this meagre income,he would pay his house rent at a remote village,trek some distance and spend a fortune to get to the office so as to keep his servitude job.

I asked the young man,what is your dream?. He answered that he would have loved to be a poultry farmer if not for the fact that he could'nt lay his hands on about #2,000 that would have been his set up capital.

I sat him down and made him to realise that he could earn up to #60,000/week to start with offering a laundary services to people in the banking industry with which he has strong links.

He accepted this counsel and I'm sure he must have enlarged his frontiers and he woul have become an employer of labour by now.

As a young entrepreneur,think of what you have that can bring in funds for you.
