Christmas countdown 2012 has begun ! Surely, most of you must have started planning for Christmas as it takes weeks to get into holiday spirit and make wreaths & garlands, think of unique Christmas gift ideas, decorate Xmas tree and plan Christmas parties.

Before you begin your purchase of Christmas ornamentation and start decorating your Xmas tree, the first task you need to accomplish is finalizing the theme color of your tree. Gold and silver are generally safe colors and you cannot go much wrong with them. However, my suggestion would be to experiment a little to stand out of the crowd. You may choose combination of red, white and silver. Make sure your Christmas ornamentation is in sync with your theme color.

Get the ornaments of different sizes and shapes for your tree to make it look classy and break the monotony. Try large-sized balls and hang them at quite a distance from each other. It gives beautiful look to your tree. You may also choose come garlands. But be careful that you don't go overboard with your ornaments. A special tip I would like to share is, this Christmas, go for some homemade decorations. It has several advantages; it renders more unique and personal look to your Christmas tree than usual styrofoam balls or popsicle sticks. Additionally, it's a good way to save a lot of money on decorations. Entire family along with children can engage themselves in creating some really easy and nice Christmas decorations.

Christmas Gifts

Once your Christmas tree has been decorated, embellish it with your wonderful Christmas presents. Traditionally, these gifts are placed beneath the tree but you may put them besides it or near fire place. But ensure that you wrap them with colorful paper and ribbons. This will excite your kids even more. You can surprise them with their favorite toys, school stationery or probably an innovative personalized christmas gifts like t-shirt, children's books among others.
