by Daisy Wilkinson Travel Guides

Besides all the towering skyscrapers and great monuments that you'll get to see while exploring New York City, there are other aspects of it that would never fail to delight you. Among them are its excellent offerings in arts, fashion, food, and nightlife. It has many architectural marvels that were built in the early 20th century. The city is also a trendsetter when it comes to fashion. Some of the masterpieces of art are housed in New York City's famous museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art. During your time spent in this world-famous American city, you'll get to explore some of its popular attractions.

You can use the amount saved on your cheap flights to New York  while visiting some of them. One of the famous attractions in the city is the American Museum of Natural History, which is home to millions of artefacts. To accommodate such huge numbers, the museum comprises 28 buildings and 45 exhibition halls. One of the favourites of its visitors is the Rose Center for Earth and Space. Other interesting sections of this museum are the Butterfly Conservatory and the Hall of the Universe. The American Museum of Natural History is also one of the best attractions for families holidaying in the city.

Central Park is yet another attraction you must not miss while in New York City. This public park is spread across a vast area of more than 800 acres and is within a short distance from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and American Museum of Natural History. The residents of this city as well as its tourists visit this park to exercise, explore the zoo, dine, or to simply relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. It is home to many playgrounds, monuments, bridges, and sculptures. One of the most impressive sculptures located in this park is an 11-foot-tall statue called 'Alice in Wonderland', which is at the eastern side.

Amidst the hustle-bustle of the city is located the St Patrick's Cathedral, which is a Neo-Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral considered to be one of the finest examples of Roman Catholicism in the city and the entire country. You'll be impressed by its grandeur, whether you are a religious individual or just a traveller exploring the architectural delights of the city. It wouldn't take much time to explore this church and its beautiful stained glass windows. According to most of the vacationers of New York City, the best time to see this cathedral in its full glory is Christmas.

During your holiday in this globally-renowned American city, don't miss visiting the High Line. It is a landscaped park located on the western side of Manhattan and set on an abandoned railway track. The park is located about 30 feet above the street level and offers some wonderful views of Manhattan and the Hudson River. One of the reasons why so many people visit this park is the continually changing art installations at this park. It also has ample spaces for picnics and sunbathing.
