Why Your Laser Treatment is not Lightening Your Pigmentation?

by Andy Cheng Director

With the sun hanging overhead for most of the time in Singapore, it is not a surprise that many men and women suffer from some form of skin pigmentation. It is also not a surprise to note that laser treatments is one of the most popular services amongst people with the idea to find a good pigmentation treatment in Singapore

You may find a lot of information and promotions on the internet about pigmentation treatments. But buyers beware - Just because the marketing is good, that doesn’t mean the results will be just as much. There are many reasons why a lot of pigmentation treatments encounter problems at times, so here are the things that you want to take into consideration.

If you end up taking the laser treatment at the aesthetic doctor’s clinic or via using pigmentation creams, you will notice that the treatment might not be working the way you want. And as you can imagine, every situation is different and you will have to find the reasons why that’s not working the way you want.

Over-exposure to harmful UV rays

The UV rays end up being very problematic if you want a good pigmentation treatment. You have to stay away from them, otherwise they may cause the pigments to become darker than before. It is important to apply layers of sunblock to protect the skin from the harmful UV rays.

Laser machines used are incorrect

There are many types of laser machines in the market. Although they may claim that they are effective for treating stubborn skin pigmentation, not all machines are suitable for treating all types of pigmentation.

To avoid worsening the skin condition, it is best to select your skin doctor wisely and find out his experience in managing skin pigmentation conditions. Even though treating skin pigmentation is not a risky procedure, choosing a right doctor for your condition can make your treatment journey as smooth as possible. It’s all about making sure that the results are always great and the faster you do that, the better it will be in the long run.

Depigmentation creams may not have the correct ingredients

In case you are using the depigmentation creams, you want to be certain that they are using the right ingredients. There are tons of creams like that on the market. And they all tend to come with a variety of ingredients. Some of the ingredients are good, others not so much. You really have to understand the pros and cons of each treatment as you try to find the best one for you. It’s definitely going to be worth it to use such a treatment, but you have to find the right one and that’s obviously going to be a tricky thing.

Always speak with your doctor if you are unsure if the depigmentation cream is suitable for you or not.

Use Pico Laser treatment

One of the latest laser treatments for pigmentation is Pico Laser.  What makes this pigmentation treatment stand out is the fact that it does not have long downtime. Pico laser reduces the need to undergo long downtime. In fact, stubborn pigments such as melasma require several rounds of treatments to reduce its appearance. With Pico Laser, it significantly cuts down the need for many rounds of treatment because it goes all the way to the deep skin layers to break down the pigments that are often found in the deep layers of the skin.
