Why Use Natural Beauty Products? - Top 12 Reasons Explained

by Gert Erdmann Project Manager

Natural cosmetics are cosmetics that are produced without using preservatives or ingredients that in contact with the skin, over time, can cause allergic reactions. In the long run, the cosmetic products we know can turn into a threat to skin health and beauty, but why use natural cosmetics?

We often hear about the benefits of using natural cosmetics, whether organic or non organic. Public sensitivity towards these issues, especially that of respect for nature and attention to natural cosmetics, has increased significantly in recent years. We are faced with a new awareness, which sees in the return to products made according to nature a true philosophy of life. Many believe that natural and ecological cosmetics are much more expensive and therefore are not convenient. This is not the case, as more and more cosmetic companies are producing natural beauty products (cosmetics, but also bubble baths, perfumes), for an ever larger clientele, including young girls. So, we try to understand what are the advantages of this type of products, why use natural cosmetics and how this choice can have a significant impact on the quality of life and health of our skin, especially in the long run.

Below there will be listed 12 reasons for which use organic products it is advantageous and cost-effective than the use of cosmetic products chemically.

1) A natural product knows what our skin needs, but it also knows how not to harm the environment.

2) Because those same eudermic ingredients do not pollute and are often processed with low environmental impact methods, as well as being recyclable in all their components, packs and packages included.

3) In addition to being composed primarily of substances derived from nature, a natural cosmetic is also made according to special procedures that are part of the so-called "green chemistry". The processing processes must eliminate or reduce the use and synthesis of potentially negative substances for the skin and above all, one's own health.

4) Natural cosmetic products do not contain parabens, which are substances often used together in combination that keep the product compact and usable over time. Parabens, however, work, albeit in a lower intensity, like estrogens and can therefore be recurrent (according to some researchers) to breast cancer. There is no certainty of this correlation, but when in doubt, it is better to avoid using products that contain parabens.

5) Organic cosmetics are 95% natural and this means that practically everything you put on your skin is respectful of body ph and is good for the skin. In short, a real cure for beauty in health and safety.

6) Natural products do not create allergies as often happens with synthetic coloring substances and chemical preservatives that are very often contained in normal cosmetics. So, as well as being beneficial for the skin, they can be used for a long time without creating any kind of problem.

7) Organic cosmetics are not toxic but, on the contrary, help to eliminate toxins and waste from our body.

Organic products also contain 50% more vitamins, minerals and other micronutrients than chemically treated ones.

8) With the use of natural cosmetics you will have a skin without impurities such as pimples, blackheads, dilated pores and grains of millet and with diminution of imperfections such as wrinkles and skin spots.

9) In organic products there is not the presence of certain ingredients such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate, a surfactant that is also found in liquid detergents and that seems to be very aggressive on the skin, irritating it because it lacks a thin layer of fat, which has purpose of protecting it.

10) In a biological face cream you will not even find paraffins, other ingredients turned down as harmful, because they are derived from oil. In fact, paraffin is likely to prevent transpiration of the skin.

11) Although many still use chemicals, to hydrate the skin there is nothing better than an oil or a 100% organic cream. In fact, any "chemical" product containing silicones, paraffin or petroleum derivatives would risk drying our skin, dehydrating it. Traditional cosmetics products contain petroleum derivatives, synthetic dyes, silicones, parabens, heavy metals, allergenic perfumes, aggressive surfactants etc... Which are substances that cost little to big industries (lower production costs and maximum gain), often large multinational corporations that own cosmetics firms also own oil refineries so refining waste uses them in their products.

12) Organic products can contain a maximum percentage of additives (which serve to stabilize and make the product pleasant) equal to 2% of the content. Unfortunately, you will notice that the products of natural cosmetics have higher prices, also due to the high cost of raw materials and processing, but you can find good products at affordable prices by using online vouchers. There is also to say that they are products for which a small amount is enough each time, so it lasts longer, but we must also take into account the less shelf life, given that there are no chemical preservatives.
