Why Resin Surfaces are Great not Just for Driveways

by Yorkshire Resin Resin Driveways & Surfaces Across All of Yorkshire

Resin bound driveway is amongst the most popular type of driveway there is, and for good reason. Firstly, they look good and will continue to look good long after the day they were installed. They are also durable, they can withstand the pressures of being driven on by heavy vehicles and are also easy to maintain. The sealed surface also means that there is no opportunity for weeds to take root.

What a lot of people don’t realise, though, is that resin aggregate is also ideal for use in applications other than driveways. It can be used as an alternative to other types of materials, such as concrete or tarmac, and doing so has a number of advantages. Here’s a look at how else you can use resin aggregate in an around the home.

Pool Areas

With people getting in and out of pools, it’s easy to see how many potential hazards there are, with one of the most obvious being slipping. A resin bound aggregate surface, however, is ideal for the area around pools as the aggregate provides a non-slip surface.

The flat/permeable surface also means that there are no tripping/pooling hazards and it is easy to keep clean. Plus, of course, it simply looks good and different styles can be used to achieve your desired effect!

Patios

Quite often, patios are made from concrete slabs. While these are pretty good job for the job, there are some drawbacks. Smooth concrete surfaces can be slippery when wet, and gaps in between the slabs can provide places for dirt to gather and weeds to take root. A resin aggregate surface, however, will not be slippery even in wet weather. What’s more is that the sealed surface means there is no opportunity for weeds to take hold.

Play Areas

Because Resin Driveway are easy to keep relatively clean, they can be used for surfaces in play areas for children. With some imagination, the different colours available can also be used to create something that enhances the area. Because resin surfaces are watertight and don’t allow dirt and weeds to seep into cracks, they can also be used in combination with other materials that help provide a soft surface.

Overall, the potential uses for resin surfaces are widespread. Resin bound aggregates hold several advantages over other materials, including aesthetic appeal, easy maintenance and durability. Weigh up the pros and cons of using resin bound aggregates over other surfaces, and you’ll likely find that resin will come out on top.
