by Jessica Kappor Project ManagerAn MBA degree is very much in demand these days. It is because of the numerous career benefits that the MBA degree vests. The entrance exams are the most common way of applying for an MBA programme. Described below are the 4 concrete reasons as to why one should prepare religiously for entrance exams:
1. MBA admissions are not a cake walk
Gone are the times when only a handful number of students pursued a career in management. In today’s time, there is tough competition in every field and there is a need of managers who can maintain several verticals of the business like finance, accounting, operations etc.
Due to this increasing inclination to pursue MBA, the admission process has become even more stringent. The number of colleges and universities are growing in numbers with each passing year, but only a handful of them can give you the much needed leap to a desirable career. For easy MBA admission, prepare well for the various entrance exams.
2. To Secure a seat with good college or university
As already mentioned, only a handful number of colleges and universities can give you the much needed head start to your career. But, these reputed colleges and universities would accept your application for admission only on the basis of your entrance exam score. Most reputed colleges and universities accept the scores of entrance exams like Common Admission Test (CAT), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), NMAT by GMAT and Management Aptitude Test (MAT) etc.
3. To get into a good specialization
While a number of MBA specializations are being offered by every third college, only a few bear importance in the industry. The scope of many of these might grow in the future but as of now, specializations like MBA in Finance, HR, Marketing and a few more hold major importance. So, to get into such a specialization, you would need to score well in the entrance exam.
4. For Scholarships
Appearing for entrance exams not only gets you a good college and specialization but also can get you scholarships. There are different criterions of awarding scholarship. This can be understood by taking the example of College M.
