This is the part where Website B is going to outrank Website A because of good quality backlinks again the part where Quality over Quantity wins.

Therefore go and ask some popular websites you can use online tools to see the ranking of the website in which you just put the URL of that website and it gives you how much popular that website is, sure this process is going to take time but if you are in this for long run it is worth it.
