Why Is Children Education Important?

by Ashish K. Articles
“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself” is a quote by John Dewey that explains the entire motive of education. In a technologically advanced country like India, education for everyone has become essential. From primary education to graduate level, education lets your children groom into a sophisticated and socially responsible human being. Education not only improves the quality of children’s lives but also helps them in forming their goals. Sending children to school not only enables them to gain knowledge but also inculcates in them punctuality and discipline.

Education is a fundamental and universal right. Therefore, children belonging to the age group 6-14 can claim “right to education”. For children below the poverty line, education should be free. Moreover, the countries should focus on the quality of education and primary instructions. The government shall decide the curriculum as per the prevailing requirements. Importance of Children Education
Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” In order to develop a country, it is essential to educate its children. Education not only helps your child in building a career but also affects the global economy on a larger scale. Schooling will enable your child to think for himself and convert his/her thoughts into reality.

There are two divisions of children’s education:
*    Primary Education: The primary education plays a very important role in a child’s growth. Most of the mental, emotional and social development of a child happens during his/her first 8 years. Therefore, it is the most crucial time in terms of a child’s development and building up of his/her personality. During this time, child’s cognitive skills, character skills, interpersonal growth, intrapersonal growth, and executive functioning are under development. Therefore, it is essential for countries to implement honed early education programs for children below the age of eight. Moreover, children who lie beneath the poverty line require few other facilities in schools apart from free education. From mid-day meals to books and stationery items, the government should provide all the essential facilities for the underprivileged children.

*    Secondary Education: If primary education builds the base, then secondary education constructs the structure. Children often dream of doing something big in their lives. However, only a few gain success in fulfilling their dream. The secondary education of a child enables him/her to prepare for his/her future prospects. The education that a child gains during fifth to tenth class enables him/her to realize his/her capabilities and interests. After tenth class, the student has to choose a field of study that will help him/her in making a better future for himself/herself.

In order to gain recognition in the society and build a successful life for oneself, education is very important for all. Nowadays, various institutions and schools are providing free education to the children along with all the other facilities for the underprivileged sections of the society.
