Which Is the Best Restaurant in Goa

by Puja Sharma Content Writer

Goa boasts an excellent regional cuisine, famous for its fusion of Portuguese and Indian flavors, including coconut milk and seafood. With a vibrant dining scene, the city is filled with laid-back street-food stalls and cozy shacks by the seaside to candlelit fine-dining Pan Asian restaurants in South Goa.

A list of some of the best restaurants in Goa is:

A Reverie

A place to wine, dine and enjoy a good time. Ideally located on the popular Holiday Street in Calangute, this restaurant is run by a lovely couple, and surrounded by an elegant walled garden. The ambiance is enchanting - a melange of dramatic adornments and contemporary decor. Along with crystal chandeliers and dim-lit artistic lamps, disco balls and copper and wooden benches give the place an earthen feel. The menu, although internationally inspired, has a distinct Goan influence. The fusion cuisine ensures unusual combinations, with the chefs turning dishes into works of culinary arts. The restaurant is also equipped with a wood-paneled wine room, temperature-controlled and featuring international classics like the Bordeaux as well as a varied collection of Indian wines.

Waterfall Cafe

Experience multi-cuisine dining at its best at the Waterfall Cafe restaurant, one of the best luxury restaurants in South Goa. The waterfront cafe is also famous for being one of the most famous cocktail restaurants in South Goa. The cafe serves everything from street-food classics like vada pav as well as continental favorites like pasta. With live counters and a wide array of desserts, this cafe is perfect for a date night.

Anjuna Xavier’s

A charming restaurant located beyond a palm tree-lined path, Xavier’s is a stone’s throw away from from the famous Anjuna flea market. A perfect place to relax and read a good book, while listening to ambient music and waiting for your meal. All the ingredients used in their meals are organically sourced from local farmers, from the borders of Goa. Xavier’s specializes in Indian and Goan cuisine, with traditional recipes that have been passed down for generations. Guests are welcome to just walk into their kitchens and watch as their meal takes shape and comes to life. They can also have their pick from the catch of the day, including fish, crabs, and lobsters.

Palacio do Deao

Located in South Goa, the owners of this mansion serve a tradition Indo-Portuguese cuisine at their mansion in Quepem. This restored heritage mansion was built in the 1780s and is currently owned by Ruben and Celia Vasco da Gama. In addition to a delicious, mouth-watering five-course meal that includes fish fofos, prawn rissois, prawn caldine, chicken vindaloo, and a sweet pumpkin pie as the finishing touch, you also get to explore the estate.

These are just some of the few restaurants that are on the list. The best restaurant in Goa? We’ll let you make the decision.
