What to do When Scanning Stops in Norton before Reaching 100 Percent?

1. Restart your computer

Close all the programs that are opened on your system.
Restart your system and if any problem is encountered after the restart, follow the next steps.

2. Run Live Update

Start your Norton antivirus.
Click Security in the main window and then give a click on LiveUpdate.
Hit the OK button when the LiveUpdate is completed.
Run LiveUpdate until the message of “Your Norton product has the latest protection updates” is displayed.
Close all the programs and restart the computer. Follow the next instructions if still any problem is noticed.

3. Download and run Norton Power Eraser

Firstly Download Norton Power Eraser.
Click on Save and choose the location as Desktop.
Again hit the Save button.
Now double click the NPE.exe file to run the program.
If prompted by User Account Control window, click Yes or Continue.
Click Accept after reading the license agreement.
Hit the icon of Scan for Risks.
Power Eraser performs a Rootkit scan by default and then need a system restart. Whenever prompted, hit the Restart button. If you do want the rootkit scan to take place then go to Settings and Untick the box beside the option of Include Rootkit scan (require a system restart).
When your system is restarted, a scan will automatically start and follow the on-screen instructions to completely protect your system.
