What to Do If You Need to Lose Weight Fast

While I never recommend losing weight too quickly, I have had a number of friends come to me in the past and tell me that they need to lose weight fast. My first advice is to go and see a doctor and ask them, but if they are persistent and promise to check in with their doctors, and it is not a huge amount of weight they are trying to lose, I have a couple of recommendations that have worked very well.

The first thing that I suggest if someone comes to me and says they really need to lose weight fast is to lower their caloric intake down to about 1,200 calories a day, and work out two to three times. This is still considered safe, as one is not starving himself at this point, but it is a severe reduction in calories, which equates to faster weight loss. The exercising is also a very important component to this, because if the person is not burning calories as well, the weight loss will not come as fast and a person can get flabby.

Another thing that can be done if you need to lose weight fast is to cut out carbohydrates. When you are only consuming the type of protein you get from lean meats and the vitamins and nutrients gained from eating fruits and vegetables, you will really start shedding pounds at meteoric rate! Again, though, you have to couple exercise with this type of diet in order to remain toned. I have seen that most people lose weight quickest taking this approach. There is, however, the risk of elevating one's cholesterol doing it this way, which obviously can be quite dangerous if done for an extended period of time.

One of the other things that I always recommend to people that need to lose weight fast is to drink plenty of water. This actually serves multiple purposes. Drinking plenty of water keeps you hydrated, which makes you more alert and allows you to work out longer. Drinking plenty of water also helps you to flush out your system, stay regular and make sure that you are getting rid of toxins. Drinking plenty of water also prevent you from taking in calories in what you are drinking, and one of the big things with weight loss is not to be drinking your calories.

If you need to lose weight fast, try to make sure it is not a lot of weight and you do not use these types of weight loss diet and exercise plans for an extended period. Always make sure that you are exercising in coordination with diet, and check in with your doctor regularly.
