What Should you Know when Considering Rental EB-5 Regional Center?
by Asad Waheed Consultant
Today, more and more developers have begun to depend on the
EB-5 program to raise capital for their projects. Direct investment and
regional center investment are the two investment models, but the regional
center is more often employed because it comes with a broader view of economic
impact, resulting in higher employment numbers and a large amount of EB-5
capital from growing number of investors. Once the decision is taken to raise
capital through a regional center, the developer must choose whether to consider
rental EB5 regional center or to
form a new regional center.
Choosing either to Rent or Form a Regional Center
As with any business endeavor, the two most primary concerns
for any developer looking to set up a new EB-5 center are time and money. In
order to obtain approval as regional center from US citizenship and Immigration
Services, it is necessary to submit form I-924, the Application for Regional
Center. Developers must take their decision whether they are prepared to wait
through the usual processing time. Not only does it frequently take months to
compile legal and financial documentation that comes with an application, the
petitioner might wait for a year or so to receive USCIS approval. Developers
who have chosen rental EB5 regional center
will be required to perform through due diligence on regional centers that
are candidates for their project and ensure that the terms are clear before
signing.
Finding a Regional Center for your Project
One of the simplest ways to determine whether a particular
regional center is a good match for your project is to request a copy of its
USCIS designation letter, which actually lists the regional center’s USCIS
approved geographical scope and its industries of focus. After finding the apt
regional center for the project, the developer should research the center so as
to ensure that it is reputable, professionally operated, properly insured, and
comes with a history of successfully completed projects. For both investors and
project developers, it is ideal to collaborate with a regional center whose
interests are very closely aligned with their own.
Moreover, the rental agreement for EB5 regional center
should be closely verified that it serves the interests of the developer and
that the agreement clearly conveys the terms and conditions to which they have
agreed. So are you ready to proceed?
