Importance of Cloud Computing Services

Over the past few years, the usage of cloud computing and cloud services has amplified tremendously. Initially, the Cloud service offered a cost-effective and convenient way to store data. Since its inception, the concept of cloud is wowing the users to add on to the business value and streamline their work operations.

The two industry giants AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Microsoft Azure are the established players in rendering cloud services to business enterprises worldwide. By harnessing the power of these cloud services, organizations are vigorously engaging with customers, developing apps, growing their CRMs, and administering businesses more efficiently. According to Techjury, 61% of companies migrated their workloads to the cloud in 2020. Cloud adoption statistics also state that a staggering 83% of the companies' workload was stored on the cloud in 2020.

These statistics are evident to tell that the organizations have either moved to the cloud or are assiduously migrating to the cloud. Every cloud provider offers several deployment models that help in identifying the right cloud environment based on ownership, scale, and access, and the cloud's nature and purpose. Furthermore, this helps to identify how the appearance of the cloud infrastructure, changes to be made, and accessibility. From a bird's eye view, cloud computing deployment models can be classified as public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, community cloud, and multi-cloud.

Understanding the Structure of Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is different from conventional IT hosting services from a consumer’s perspective. Be it a business owner, an organization or an individual – not everyone has sufficient infrastructure that is needed to assist the programs or applications used. As a substitute, these components are owned and operated by a third party. The end users only have to pay for the services and the rest is handled by the cloud company and third-party. Simply put, cloud computing is a utility-based model which is highly in demand in today’s world.

Following are the features of a cloud computing model:

On-demand self-service: Most of the time, users want to avail cloud services without interacting with the service provider. On-demand self-service solves this problem. The cloud computing service providers should offer fully on-demand so that the users can conveniently have the control and agility for meeting their dynamic needs.

Wide-ranging network access: Cloud computing services are abundantly available through the preferred tools of the network users. For example: On laptops, smartphones, laptops, tablets, etc.

Resource pooling: To deliver computing services at higher scalability, pooling of resources is one of the most enticing components of cloud computing. Resources such as memory, storage, processing and network bandwidth, are accumulated and assigned to a plethora of consumers based on their demand.
