What has Fear have to do with our Success?
What is fear first of all? Fear is an obstacle that has the ability to hold you back from what ever it is you set out to accomplish in life. Is fear really an emotional state of your mind or is it something else. Most of us create this illusion that we do not have what it takes to move on with our lives. But actually fear is a motivator; that we did not even know, until we encounter that fear.
We when encounter fear our whole body and mind changes drastically to challenge that obstacle we have just encounter regardless of what we are up against. Think of the times you have encounter fear and how you put up your guards to protect yourself from that fear or you ran away from it, but you did react to in a different manner. Fear has the ability to hold us back, for the simple reason it takes full control over our emotions and mind.
Fear often interferes with our ability to live more fulfilling lives. Fear is the critical voice in our head saying: "You'll never succeed, so why try?” Fear makes us listen to those voices and give up before we'e even started. So how do we handle our fears and over come them so they do not hold us back from success. Don't beat yourself up over mistakes you've made in the past and being fearful of starting new relationships, jobs etc. That gets you nowhere. Call a mistake an "opportunity for learning" and seek the learning in every "mistake".
When we let fear rule our lives, we miss out on opportunities and leads us to dismiss people and situations that could help us reach our goals. Fear comes in different guises and different forms - procrastination for example. Learning how to deal with fear is your first step to overcome fear.
Here are a few key points that will help you deal with your fears learning and be able to handle is the first step in over coming some of your fears.
-Get to know your fears
-Get to know the source of your fears
-Step into the things feared
-Make the negative flow stop
-Enlighten all
-Financial obligations
-Providing for our loved ones
-This list can grow beyond our belief, with all kinds of fears we face.
Logically, to overcome your fears, you have to be aware of their existence first. Once you learn what fears you have and why they have an effect on your performance you will be able to overcome them, one at a time…

business consultantGreat article and insight as usual Joseph, fear is in our genes and our trigger to fight or flight, however in business and modern life many feel a psycological fear if they are removed or step outside their comfort zone, this is the fear that is easily conquered by facing it head on,it is also an indication that you are moving forward. I can't say it in any better words so I will use those of Susan Jeffers , "Feel the fear and do it anyway" Nov 18th 2011 11:23 |

This article is very helpful since it helps us how to face our fears. We need a lot of courage to fight over it. When tested, let us think of the pro's and con's before facing this. Brevity is not the only weapon to overcome fear, but wisdom as well -- as to fighting in a battle. Nov 18th 2011 14:15 |

Cheryl Baumgartner(CITRMS)
Independent Associate with LegalShieldOne of the best examples of overcoming fear that I have ever seen in in the movie Dune when the Bene Jesuit mother tests Paul Atredies. Paul recites a mantra that puts fear in it proper place. "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." It very clearly shows fear for what it is. Once faced and conquered you realize that only you remain, the source of your fear in the first place. Nov 18th 2011 14:16 |

"Networking is a contact Sport!Nancy l like that definition of fear, l have never heard that thanks for sharing it makes good sense to me. Paula that is so true, many people never seek help in that field or many fields that they could get support and help for them to deal with their fears anxieties etc...we are only humans and we need that support to over come some of obstacles we do have to do it alone.. "Networking is a contact Sport! Is Fear actually an obstacle, or is it something that we have no desire to accept or already have accepted it...when we accept fear what happens to our emotions...how do we deal with them..what can we do about them.. When you really think about it, this article does make sense. Dec 3rd 2011 23:09 |

Online MarketerFear is a powerrful and strong emotional state created in our thoughts. You can learn to control fear or let fear control you! all the support in the world will never change your state of mind until you face your fear. My teenage son had a fear of heights, we gathered as a familly one day and chose to ascend to a viewing platform 160m in a prominant landmark building. He shaked and quivered, before even entering the elevator, we encouraged and advised him recogising his fear, I held his hand all the way I felt his hand cold and clammy, could see the paleness in his face, But he held on in trust and overcame. He acually thanked us for the experience. The moral of the story I say is you dont have to face your fears alone. Dec 4th 2011 00:46 |

"Networking is a contact Sport! Some very good solid feedback here since l last read this article, yes fear can be a motivator in your challenges and daily obstacles we all face. Without fear we are not read for that challenge so Paula you will do well because you can feel them butterflies in your stomach and it is telling you one thing, you will do good as the new coordinator of this new project you are facing....Fear is what you make fear to be.....Learning how to deal with fear is all you have to know to handle it to your advantage, We just have to know what are fears "ARE"...so we can deal and learn from them.. When we overcome and know what we are facing we have the ability to do what we desire, one fear at a time..
