by Alisha Perry A Blogger
It seems like personal number plates are an investment, so you want to make sure that they're going to be right for you. Aside from deciding on the type of message you want to convey, first of all, it's important for you to consider what benefits you'll be able to enjoy.

Having a private number plate will allow you to adorn your car with a message. This could be anything like your nickname, your partner's name, or even just a favorite word that you find interesting.

The best thing about private number plate is that it offers you an opportunity to express yourself better. Unlike regular ones, you're also much less likely to forget the registration number of personal number plates.

There is no arguing with the fact that private number plates are good investments. Due to each one being unique, there is no chance of them being replicated and the best part is that they will not devalue in that way. And their value will likely to only ever go up in the future.

There is a multitude of private number plate options available, many of which include things like a location and year identifier for when and where the mark was first registered.

Following are the different types of private number plates.

1 Current Style:
Also referred to 'new style registrations', this style is quite popular among a lot of car enthusiasts. Current style registrations contain a year identifier as a number. for example 02=Mar 2002, 51=Sep 2001 & so on.

2. Prefix: Introduced in 1983, prefix style registration marks were popular right from the start. These kinds of plates contain a letter that indicates the year that the vehicle was registered. On the registration, the year identifier is the First letter, A=Aug 1983, B=Aug 1984 & so on.

3. Suffix:
Suffix style registration marks were introduced in 1963 and these plates contain a letter to indicate the year that the vehicle was registered. On the registration, the year identifier is the Last letter, for instance, A=Aug 1963, B=Aug 1964 & so on.

4. Dateless: Dateless registration plates do not have a year identifier and they are able to be applied to any vehicle regardless of its issue date. And that’s the reason, dateless number plates tend to be the most sought-after and rare numbers to obtain.
