What are ozone plates? How to Clean and Maintain them?

Covering more than 7000 feet, ozone plates are just great for any domestic or commercial space if the place has to be free from dangerous bacteria, viruses and other disease-causing microbes. It helps the place keep absolutely clean and smelling great. It is ideal for freshly painted spaces, for the pet stores, for veterinary clinics for the auto shops etc. 

For keeping the ozone plates operating in the topmost conditions you need to clean it from time to time. Ozone generators present in the air purifiers generate ozone and clean air in a larger space, disinfect, deodorize and remove the dangerous particles from the air. Ozone is created by applying a high voltage to the metallic grid present between the two dielectrics. These plates are often referred to as ozone plates and if you want your air purifier to have a long life and perform optimally, you need to clean these plates from time to time. 

Ozone plates for Fresh Air Box or some other brand are made up of invisible film which makes treatments lesser effective. If it is emanating odors then it is to clean these plates thoroughly. You can do so with the help of vinegar, strong detergent and bleach. You just have to scrub these with the help of a brush, rinse it and dry. Make sure that the plates should be absolutely dry before re-installing as once these plates go you will need to buy a whole new ozone generator. 

As soon as ozone in the generator is formed in the air-purifier and gets dispersed in the room some of it gets converted into oxygen. This step takes place by a number of processes that include oxidation reactions with organic materials, reactions with bacteria that consume ozone by a number of oxidation reactions.

If you clean these plates diligently and maintain it then it will last for one to seven years before wearing out. So, the life of your ozone plates depends on how often your machine is used. When you need to replace the old plates, you just need to remove the old ones and slide new. With proper maintenance, you would be able to keep these plates in a good shape for a very long time. 

All you need to do is to grasp these plates with the help of your fingers and slide them out from your air purifiers. These are spring loaded; wash each of these plates with the help of soap, water and alcohol (make sure to use only safe cleaners.) With the help of a non-metallic brush, scrub the wire and mesh cleanly with an old toothbrush.
