Ways to Reduce Heart Disease

A man with the hand on his chest and immense pain falling on the ground with lots of sweat is the typical dramatic scene when you talk about the heart disease. However, the heart diseases are much more than that. Some of the major heart disease that are commonly found in people are congenital heart condition, Arrhythmia, coronary heart disease, heart failure, prolapsed and much more. There are multiple risk factors that can put a person of every age at the risk of developing the heart condition.  Some of these factors are controllable and can be managed with the little diligence while other are out of your control and you cannot do anything to control them. Through the course of this article we will take a look at the risk factors that can put you at the risk factors of developing heart diseases and the ways to control them.

Uncontrollable Factors

As the name suggests these are some of the risk factors of heart diseases that cannot be controlled with the patients. Some of these factors are as follows-

  • Gender- Usually the male gender is at the more risk of developing this condition. However, this does not mean that women cannot suffer from any heart disease. So both should take precautions but men should be more careful when it comes to heart condition.
  • Age - More the age more the risk of developing a heart condition. The people with old age are more at a risk of developing these conditions in comparison to younger people.
  • A family history of heart disease- The people with the family history are  at a high risk of developing congenital heart conditions. Thus, a person is having somebody with the heart condition in their family they must be extra careful.
  • Being post-menopausal- After the menopausal the women are at a greater risk of developing the heart condition.


Controllable Factors

While all the above mentioned risk factors cannot be controlled by anybody there are several other factors that can be controlled with the actions of the patient. Here are some of these factors-

  • Smoking- Apart from several other adverse impacts smoking also puts a person at the risk of developing severe heart condition.
  • Bad Cholesterol- It another major reason for the development of Heart diseases. Simple avoiding the food items high in bad cholesterol can help you in reducing this risk.
  • Uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure)-High blood pressure is majorly caused by the stress and anxiety.  High blood pressure being the major risk factor for hypertension deserves attention of the person suffering from it.
  • Physical Inactivity-Apart from making you lazy and lousy the physical inactivity also puts a negative impact on your medical health. The people who are physically inactive are at a risk of developing the heart condition than the active ones.
  • Obesity- It is a proven fact that the people who are overweight or obese are at a greater risk of getting a severe heart conditions like a heart attack or a heart failure. Thus, the person shall keep a check on his weight continuously and make sure to maintain the healthy weight.
  • Uncontrolled diabetes- The diabetes if left untreated could be a reason for the development of severe heart conditions.  Thus all the possible must be taken to keep this factor under control.
  • Uncontrolled stress and anger- When a person is in too much anger and stress the rate of his blood pressure is very high that puts him at a great risk of developing the cardiac conditions. Thus it is important to stay calm.

All the above mentioned can be easily managed just by making certain simple lifestyle changes like quitting smoking,  practicing yoga or other meditations, being careful about your diet  and keeping a check on your medical condition etc.
