Ways to Make Your Cheap Tenerife Holidays Truly Exciting

by Amanda Sutcliffe Travel Deals

The largest of all the seven Canary Islands of Spain, Tenerife has an abundance of beautiful natural surroundings that attract plenty of tourists every year from different parts of the world. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is its capital city, which hosts one of the largest carnivals in the world annually in the month of February or March. You can get to this island destination from your home country easily with the presence of two airports, Tenerife-North and Tenerife-South. A relaxed holiday is guaranteed in this part of the world considering the number of sun-kissed beaches that it offers for its visitors.

A visit to Mount Teide National Park during your cheap Tenerife holidays would give you the chance to enjoy marvellous views of the volcanic landscapes. This national park is also one of the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites on the island, the other being San Cristobal de La Laguna city. The beautiful coastlines and magnificent mountains of the island are also worth visiting during your holidays. While on your sightseeing trips, you can also explore some enchanting villages, such as Masca. It is accessible by road and offers marvellous views of the lush green surroundings.

Winter from December to February in Tenerife is characterised by a warmer weather as compared to most of the European destinations. This is the reason why many of the older tourists visit this island to enjoy sunbathing on its beaches. Spring from March to May can be a great season to book cheap holidays to Tenerife with lesser number of tourists and reduced room rates of hotels. The peak tourist months of summer from June to August would make it difficult for you to get a hotel accommodation. So, if you plan to visit the island during this season, you’ll have to book your stay several months in advance.

From September to November, Tenerife experiences its autumn season, which is another good time for you to enjoy Tenerife holidays with lesser tourist crowds and some attractive deals on room rates of hotels. You can also enjoy some thrilling activities during your time spent in Tenerife. Upon hiking to the higher reaches of Los Gigantes Cliffs, you can savour the breath-taking views of the surroundings. You can also indulge in kayaking trips, paddle-boarding, snorkelling, and other activities in waters around the cliffs. A hiking expedition to the Anaga Mountains would give you the opportunity to be on the oldest portion of the island.

Your holidays on this Spanish island would never be considered complete without visiting its gorgeous beaches. Among them are Playa Tejita and Playa Grande, which offer perfect laid-back environs for you to unwind. The Teresitas Beach located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is visited by locals as well as tourists to escape the hustle-bustle of the capital city. You can play a game of volleyball or take a yoga class during your visit to this beach. If you’re not interested in any of such activities, you can simply take a stroll on the sandy stretch or savour the local delicacies in any of the seafood restaurants nearby.
