When the side of the filling doesn’t fit tightly against the tooth, it is said to be a leaking filling. There will be a possibility that debris and saliva can seep down between the filling and the tooth. Hence the result will lead to decay, discoloration or sensitivity. 

Although some fillings may last long but you should visit your dentist for regular check-ups.
