Visit Some Splendid Places with Cheap Holidays to St Lucia
by Amanda Sutcliffe Travel DealsThere has been a steady increase in the
number of tourists visiting St Lucia over the years, and for some good reasons.
This island country located in the Caribbean has vast expanses of enchanting
natural beauty, offers some great opportunities to indulge in exciting outdoor
activities, and has a rich heritage that's influenced by African, English,
French, and East Indian cultures. While holidaying in this Caribbean island
destination, you'll also get the chance to be a part of some interesting
cultural festivals.
St Lucia experiences a pleasant, breezy
weather from December to April with favourable temperatures for sightseeing and
spending some quality time on the beaches. This is also a peak tourist season
in the country, which increases the room rates of hotels to a great extent. If
you're fine with enjoying your St Lucia holidays during the hurricane season
from July to November, you'll be rewarded with some great discounts on your
hotel accommodation. The months of May and June are the best times to visit St
Lucia as the climate is quite pleasant and there are lesser crowds of tourists.
If you book your hotel stays a few months in advance, you can secure the best
discounts on your accommodation.
When you're in St Lucia, don't miss the
Pitons. They are the majestic twin peaks of this island destination; one known
as 'Gros Piton' or the large Piton and the other is 'Petit Piton' or the small
Piton. Both these peaks are a part of the Pitons Management Area, which is a
UNESCO World Heritage site. The two peaks were formed about 300,000 years ago
by volcanic activity. Most of the tourists enjoying their cheap holidays to St
Lucia choose to view them from a distance and admire the scenic beauty, as they
are quite difficult to climb. If you're an experienced diver, you can explore
the marine area of these peaks and discover some amazing coral reefs.
Among the activities you'll like to
indulge in during your cheap
St Lucia holidays are diving and snorkelling. The best place for these two
activities is the Anse Chastanet coral reef, which is home to a vast coral
ecosystem harbouring a variety of marine species. Once you get above the
surface, you can explore the sheltered beach nearby. If you wish to take a
stroll or relax on a beach that's almost secluded, get to the Anse Mamin. This
serene beach is located within a walking distance of about 10 minutes from Anse
Chastanet.
Yet another popular tourist spot is the
Morne Coubaril Estate, which overlooks the Soufriere Bay and resembles a traditional
village. There are guided tours available for taking you to the plantation as
well as the tropical gardens of this area. You can also enjoy zip-lining during
your visit to this estate and savour some delicious Creole treats at the
restaurant of the plantation. Another fabulous estate is the Soufriere Estate,
which gives you the opportunity to visit the spectacular Diamond Falls area. As
you begin exploring the surroundings, you’ll come across some healing hot
springs, beautiful gardens, and an awe-inspiring waterfall.
