Home to the University of La Laguna, this city is notable for being the first university city in the Canary Islands. One of the most prominent structures in this city is the Cathedral of La Laguna. It was built in 1915 and is dedicated to the Virgin of Los Remedios. This church is also considered to be one of the most important of all churches in the Canary Islands.
