Vice’s Top Drug-Related Documentary Videos

by Fusion 360 Studios Digital Marketing Specialists

Since 1994, Shane Smith, the owner and CEO of Vice Magazine, has been serving the world with pop culture, political, opinion and all sorts of media-related topics. Not long ago, Vice developed a website that has since become a global phenomenon, operating in over 30 countries. For years, the Vice staff have been investigating issues related to drug rehab, substance abuse and all the other controversial topics regarding drugs.

Readers and viewers in Los Angeles and nationwide have loved the documentaries that Vice has produced, especially in light of current media attention and political debate on the subject. Here’s an insight into some of Vice’s top drug-related documentaries.

Remember the hit series, “Breaking Bad”? Since its premiere in 2008, viewers in Los Angeles and worldwide fell in love with AMC’s compelling, intense show—but mostly people loved Walter White. In Vice’s documentary, “The Real Walter White?,” the documentary’s subject revealed the secret behind his product as he raked in big bucks on a daily basis.

Vice also decided to highlight the controversial legalization of medical marijuana. Vice traveled to a small town in the Northwest Coast to visit an eight-year-old female leukemia patient to produce “Stoned Kids.” This film investigates the controversy surrounding medical marijuana as the young girl consumes high amounts of weed for part of her treatment. Some people still believe that medical marijuana is a hoax, and that severe use of the substance will only put people in drug rehab programs, but this documentary helped shed some light on the subject.

“Swansea Love Story” (another popular documentary) took a look at a group of young heroin addicts in South Wales. Viewers in Los Angeles and elsewhere can understand how economic depression, family breakdown and addiction create a harsh cycle for these users, says Vice. The heroin epidemic has put many addicts in drug rehab programs, yet the issue continues to be ignored, as seen in the documentary.

Finally, Vice took a trip to Greece to study the new drug sisa. The documentary says its ingredients are basically meth, battery acid, engine oil, shampoo and salt. The primary users are poor and often homeless, using it to rid themselves of the psychological and physical effects of the economic downturn. Sadly, most of these people end up hurting themselves and cannot afford to attend drug rehab.

Vice media continues to produce hit documentaries covering all sorts of subjects. Their drug documentaries just so happen to attract loads of viewers from Los Angeles and around the world. These eye-opening productions can help people to understand the true story behind some of the world’s most controversial and misunderstood drug-related topics.
