Viagra VS Cialis

by Frankie Jennings Consultant
Currently, two most widely used medicines against erectile dysfunction are Viagra and Cialis. Which of these drugs more effectively helps to get rid of problems with potency, is often discussed in male companies and on various forums in the Internet. Both medicines have their followers and opponents. In this article we will try to figure out what their positive and negative sides are, and compare the features of their action.
Let’s start with the active ingredients. In Viagra, this is Sildenafil citrate, in Cialis – Tadalafil. Both substances belong to PDE-5 inhibitors, that is, the mechanism of their action is identical. They block the production of the phosphodiesterase type 5 enzyme, which is responsible for stopping an erection, and also dilate the blood vessels in the penis, facilitating its filling with blood. This allows a man to easily achieve a strong erection.
Both active ingredients are not addictive, are not aphrodisiacs, and their effect is manifested only if the man is excited or experiencing sexual stimulation.
According to numerous reviews of patients, Viagra Teva has a stronger effect on erection than Cialis. However, while Viagra is advisable to take only on demand, that is, shortly before sexual intercourse, Cialis is suitable for daily use in courses. This is due to the fact that Viagra begins to act about an hour after the intake and lasts for four to six hours, after which its effect disappears, while Cialis remains in the organism for up to 36 hours. The patient can take Cialis every morning or, for example, evening, regardless of whether he has sexual intimacy or not.
As a rule, Cialis therapy in courses is prescribed to patients suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is often accompanied by problems with potency. Tadalafil has a positive effect on the blood flow in the prostate gland, reducing its size. This is a significant difference between Cialis and Viagra and all other PDE-5 inhibitors: except for Tadalafil, the rest of the drugs from this group are not recommended to be taken if a man has BPH.
Both drugs are available in form of pills for oral use. Viagra is produced by the American company Pfizer in the dosage of 25, 50 and 100 mg of Sildenafil citrate, the pills are blue, diamond-shaped. Cialis is also made in the United States, by Eli Lilly, in the form of oval dark yellow tablets with a dosage of 5, 10 and 20 mg Tadalafil.
In most patients, Viagra causes more side effects, such as headache, color perception, nasal congestion. Cialis has a milder effect, and the side effects virtually disappear with regular use of the medication.
For men with severe erectile dysfunction, Viagra is a more effective cure. However, if you have cardiovascular diseases, you should be careful with the use of Viagra and, possibly, choose Cialis. Cialis is also a good solution for men with BPH and those who have begun to experience an age-related decrease in potency.
Before using any anti-ED drug, it is recommended to consult a doctor!
