Ventura County General Dentistry With Oral Conscious & IV Sedation For Anxiety

by PRC Agency PR

When I talk to folks about getting their teeth repaired, and it happens quite often, they always ask me the same few questions, and I give the same few answers.

Do your new teeth work well? Oh heck yeah, better than the old busted ones.

Does it affect how you talk? Maybe for the first few days or weeks, but you adjust, and soon you'll sound like your old self.

Did it hurt? Not at all, but we'll talk about that in a bit.

And, my personal favorite, who's the best expert to talk to? It's gotta be Dr. Jivraj, the man who literally wrote the book, and teaches the class - because why not go right to the top?

Dr. Saj Jivraj is the founder of the Anacapa Dental Art Institute, though dentists around the world know him as the teacher of the All-On-4 plus procedure. If you want to get the best possible results, you should definitely schedule an appointment with him - and I'll tell you how to make sure the entire process is pleasant and painless.

I admit, I may be a little biased because I absolutely love his work. You would be too though if you saw those shining smiles, go take a look for yourself. Just visit https://www.anacapadental.com

Using the All-On-4 plus technique, Dr. Jivraj can provide you with a fully implanted, natural-looking, and functional set of teeth in a single day. That means that you never have to spend any time in public without your teeth. The best part though, is that it can be entirely painless - or you can even sleep through the whole process.

All you have to do is ask about their sedation options - and they've got options.

The mildest level of sedation available, aside from the usual localized numbing, is nitrous oxide. You may know it better as laughing gas, one of the most commonly used sedatives for nearly 200 years. Nitrous oxide allows you to remain fully awake, though not feeling any pain, and is known to wear off quickly with no lasting effects.

And if you're worried about laughing all the way through your procedure, don't be. Laughing gas can make you more likely to laugh, but lucky for you, Dr. Jivraj is an amazing prosthodontist, but only so-so as a comedian.

My personal suggestion for sedation for most dental procedures is what they call “oral conscious,” because it uses a small pill to provide a feeling of deep relaxation and calmness while allowing you to stay fully awake. In layman's terms, this is the literal "chill pill" everyone talks about, and that's exactly what it does. It makes you calm, cool, and unconcerned, because "everything is like, totally alright dude."

Okay... so, maybe it won't make you talk like a surfer, but you will be cruising some calming waves for several hours. Oral sedation can last for a few hours even after your appointment, so make sure you've planned for a safe ride home, and maybe for someone to hang out with you until it wears off.

Now, to be clear, either of the sedation options we've talked about so far, is plenty. With either option, you'll feel no pain, and you'll be quite relaxed. However, for some people, that just isn't enough - and I can't blame them.

If you have a phobia of the dentist, or you just don't think those options will be enough, then the Anacapa Dental Art Institute is definitely for you.

Well... I mean, it is a dental practice, so maybe it's not going to be your favorite place if you have a phobia, but they have the trained, licensed, and experienced professionals to help you overcome any fear, pain, or concerns, through the use of modern medicine.

Though less often used, the Anacapa Dental Art Institute offers two methods for deeper sedation. You can choose either a deep IV sedation which will ensure that you remain fully relaxed throughout the process, but still awake, or general anesthesia, which will allow you to fall asleep right in the dentist’s office, and wake up with your new teeth installed.

The point that I'm trying to make, is that you have options. Lots of them.

Phobias, pain, and anxiety shouldn't even be a factor, because, with a little help from Dr. Jivraj and some sedation, you can overcome those easily. Just remember to discuss any sedation requests with Dr. Jivraj or the Anacapa Dental Arts Institute staff when scheduling an appointment, or during your initial consultation.

I've mentioned his name a dozen times already, maybe I should tell you a little bit about Dr. Jivraj.

Sure, the dental practice as a whole has more than 100 years of experience, but Dr. Saj Jivraj all by himself has a pretty impressive resume as well. He co-wrote the book “Treatment Planning in Implant Dentistry,” and in 2018 published “Graftless Solutions for the Edentulous Patient,” which is used by dentists globally today.
