Vegans, This is Why You Should Start Growing Your Own Vegetables

by Vegan Culinary Cruises Luxury – All Inclusive – All Vegan
Growing your own vegetables is beneficial as it is much healthier than the ones being brought in the grocery store. Aside from having control over the amount of pesticides that are used over these vegetables, you get to reduce your overall spending.

The Benefits of Growing Your Own Vegetables

Vegetables

1: Enhanced Creativity

Having an abundant garden of vegetables, herbs, and edible greens can stimulate other interests like photography, botany, landscape architecture, culinary and more. In fact, surrounding yourself alone with nature can give you a sense of peace and unity with the earth. Plus, giving you full control of every process -- from growing to harvesting and everything in between, providing you the sense of freedom (with the right research) to tweak every element included in the process.

2: Reduced Carbon Foot Print

There’s a significant amount of carbon footprint that’s covered in the transportation of vegetables from the origin to the market alone. As much as possible, it’s friendlier to grow vegetables where you can simply reduce the distance between where you grow and cook them. There are other vegetables that can’t grow in certain climates, but if you can grow them in your garden or in your backyard, don’t hesitate to do so. With the right research and study, you can eat without being dependent on local markets.

3: Lesser Plastic Involved

Because there’s no need for the vegetables to be displayed in the local market, there’s no need for plastic to store and sell them individually. If you’re opting to travel, it’s also useful to bring vegetables with you in a container for snacking -- unless you choose to go on an all-vegan trip or a vegan cruise, where there’s nearly no effort needed to drink, eat or snack, as everything is safely and tastefully vegan.

4: Improved Mental Health and Wellbeing

When there’s the presence of nature, there’s potential for creativity and expression. Even better, vegetable gardens foster communities to come together especially when the garden is anticipated by a whole neighborhood.

There’s also an evident proof showing the healthy effects of having plants near your home. As your 4th-grade teacher would say, plants give off oxygen, which is what our world urgently needs right now. Aside from being able to cut your budget on food and benefit from consuming your own vegetables, you also offer the world an abundant supply of oxygen.
