How to setup Ford IDS 105 Mazda IDS 105 for use? (FAQs)

Q: NO active license…
A: When you open VM at first time, choose “I move it” and all will be OK.

Q: Is the internet not surppose to work?

A: Yes, it can configure wi-fi
if its a vcm2 clone i am also interested to see if it will work with that D-link
my genuine one works with wifi but my clone not unless i patch the firmware but then my adapter is old kind.

Q: New to the diagnostics side of this industry, so will ids work with my nexiq adapter?

A: No, brother. it will not
you need a ford VCMII or VXDIAG VCX Nano Ford/Mazda.

i can now confirm both of these images are working with the Allscanner VCX Brand.

Q: Is it working with vcm2 clone?

A: Some yes, some no.

Does this software version (IDS 105.01) works with VCM I ?

A: Clone, Some , Some not .
Genuine Should work.

Q: This is working on the Retunda clone. The issue i had is a few days later after running this VM, its wanting to re-register again. What is the fix for this? Take a snapshot the first time you open it or?

A: what is wanting to re-register the ids or the vcm ?

the vmware is in none persistent mode , this is basically like deep freeze built in to vmware so the only reason i can see that you would lose the IDS license is that if you did not shut down the vmware after using IDS , even then when you close it down and restart vmware the license should come back .

If you mean the VCM is wanting to pair its self with IDS Each time , this is because of none persistent mode also . you need to take it out of nonepersistance mode, register your VCM, reboot the VM, shut down the VM and put it back to none persistence mode, Then it should be o.k.

if making changes this way , i suggest you uncheck the connect at power on first , after finshed doing what your doing , re check it.
