Valve’s New Index VR Headset Set For Launch With A Jaw-Dropping Selling Price

It’s been about a month since Valve has been teasing its new Index Virtual Reality gaming headsets and finally, the long wait has come to a halt as the Valve has finally launched its latest VR Index.

But to a surprise, the selling price for these new VR headsets are set at a whopping $999 which would indeed make some gamers frown as it is considered the most expensive price set for any Virtual Reality headset device ever.

Certainly, Valve is raising the standard market outlook on the current VR headset market as the company feels viable to introduces such premium priced product to the market in the existing gaming domain. The brad is fully set to ship its first orders from June 28th and gamers would be able to experience absolute ultra clear display which would help in playing latest titles with greater ease.

In spite of being set at such a premium price players will have to connect their Valve Index Virtual Reality Headsets by using reliable cables as this new gaming device does not come with wireless portability like Nintendo Lado VR or the Oculus Quest. But the new Index Virtual Reality headset does feature some additional novelties which no secondary VR device will provide.

The new Valve Index VR Headset is a next-generation device which includes some very advanced and reliable hardware specs to support best of the best titles in an open world environment.

New Index VR device features 1440 x 160 RGB LCD panels that can clog up to 120Hz which in comparison to present VR devices is quite high. For instance, the previous Vive VR device developed with the collaboration of Valve and HTC had 1080 x 1200 OLED panels which had a refresh rate of 90 Hz only.

Moreover, the new indigenously developed Virtual Reality device by Valve is fitted with IPD slider that enables the device with about 20 degrees greater FOV in comparison to HTC Vive. Also, the Valve Index headset provides diminished eye strain which helps players in analyzing the complete 180-degree view and increase the focal depth for the device.

Although a gamer will have to spend whopping $999 for the complete kit of the new Index device still, players can even purchase the Index headset only and use the controllers of other devices like HTC Vive or Vive Pro for about $499. Those who are looking forward to upgrading from their previous VR devices can purchase the Index Headset separately and utilize their older controllers to play the games.

For sure this flexibility will allow players to get their hands on the new exclusive VR headset within their pockets. Let’s see if Valve also reveals any new unique titles for its users to enjoy the new device as the studio is already developing three VR games which are kept highly confidential.
