Poirier (25-6-0-1NC) is competing for the first time since losing a UFC Lightweight Title unification bout to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242. Poirier is a former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion, defeating former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway to win the gold at UFC 236. Poirier vs Hooker is going to be headlining his sixth straight UFC event and the fighter has a 4-1-0 record in the previous five main event bouts.
