Udaipur Tourist Attractions: impressive Beauty of India

Udaipur is known for its numerous serene lakes and fairy tale palaces. When you go about sightseeing around the place you are accorded a window into the past. You will be transported back in time to various tourist attractions in Udaipur when you visit the City Palace, Lake Palace, Pratap Memorial, Bhartiya Lok Kala museum, Gulab bagh, Saheliyon ki Bari, Sajjan Garh and many more.

CITY PALACE: Located on the banks of lake Pichhola the City Palace is an excellent example of Rajput architecture. It was built by Maharaja Udai Singh. A museum inside the palace houses an exotic collection of royal artifacts, antiques, paintings, armory and many other interesting collectibles. The main attractions are the palatial buildings and the cenotaphs. The palace beckons you; take a walk down the memory lane through the courtyards, terraces, long corridors and the gardens.

LAKE PALACE: You cannot escape the grandeur of the Palace, besides the serene ambience captures the heart and soul of each visitor. This fairy tale palace was earlier known as Jag Niwas. You will be awestruck by the magnificent crystal and stained glasswork, the interiors are even more exhilarating. At one point in time it used to be the summer retreat of the royal family. Built over an interval of three long years the scenic locale can only be accessed by a boat ride.

JAG MANDIR: Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, the place is steeped in history. Mughal Emperor Shajahan took shelter here in the 17th century. A stroll in the courtyards, arched pavilions and the luscious garden will transport you back in time. While there visit the Jagdish temple located within the premises of the palace.

SAHELIYON KI BARI: It stands out amongst a myriad of tourist attractions dotting Udaipur. It is a perfect place to relax and savor the spirit of the past. The beautiful garden happened to be the place where the royal ladies congregated, exchanged notes and relaxed in general. A number of edifices, fountains pools and marble elephants beautify the garden.

LAKES IN UDAIPUR: Endowed with nature’s bounty and referred as the city of lakes, it singularly stands out amongst. If it is serenity, lakes, slopes and fairytale palaces you are looking for then head to Udaipur Rajasthan. Lake Pichhola is the main attraction; Fateh Sagar Lake is another spellbinding lake. Plan a pretty picnic and a take a boat ride on the placid waters of the lake while you watch the sun go down.
