If you plan on acquiring a banking position with the Indian public sector, you will realize that there is a plethora of options to select from. That said, training oneself for any bank examination that makes you eligible for a job via the IBPS is not easy. Therefore, it is recommended banking aspirants enrol for Bank PO coaching classes where you get all the help and resources required to do well in these highly competitive exams.

Here are the different examinations for the different posts—

• Examinations for Probationary Officer

Banking aspirants interested in the role of a PO should appear for the Common Written Exam (CWE). This examination is held under the aegis of the IBPS and has the approval of 22 public sector banks and the administrative section of the Indian Banks’ Association and the Government of India.

Any employee who clears the examination is eligible for selection as a PO in any of the 22 banks. It is essential to know that the examination is divided into two parts and is held twice a year. The first part is known as the preliminary phase. It is a 100-mark paper and split up into 3 segments which are Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and English. It is important to know that to qualify for the second part one must clear the preliminary examination.

The main paper which is 200 marks is a gruelling one. The sections here are Reasoning, English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. Any banking aspirant is advised to seek professional help with their preparation and it is recommended one go for Bank PO coaching in South Delhi.

The State Bank of India has a PO examination of their own. This is also split up into two categories. The first category is made up of objective questions while the second one has description questions.

• Examinations for Clerical Positions

Anyone applying for a clerical position must take the CWE-IV.  This is an examination specifically held for those interested in clerical posts. The exams are usually held in November or December every year. Those who clear the exam are asked to appear for an interview held by the banks.

The State Bank of India adheres to a different policy here. They hold an objective test where questions related to General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Marketing Aptitude/Computer Knowledge are posed.

• Examinations for Rural Banks

If an individual wants an opportunity in a rural bank then he or she must sit for the Common Written Exam for regional rural officers belonging to grades I, II and III.

• Examination for Specialist Officers

Public sector banks require people in the fields of Marketing, HR, Law and IT. Anyone aspiring to become a Specialist Officer must take the CWE exam. Aspirants should take note of the fact that notifications for this exam appear only when there are vacancies.

• Examinations for Private Banks

Many organisations like ICICI and HDFC have their own bank examinations. After this the candidates are trained thoroughly at a well-known institute.

There are plenty of opportunities for banking aspirants, but there are many hurdles to cross, so give it your all!
