Sun radiates energy that is very powerful; this powerful energy is called the solar energy. The solar energy has become very famous in the recent years and people use it for reducing the electrical expenses. Solar energy system operates with a photovoltaic cell made of silicon, which helps to convert the energy derived from the sun into electrical energy. This energy is more powerful than electricity and so there are so many benefits. The ocean, land and the earth absorbs huge amount of energy from the sun during the day time. Some radiations are reflected back to the space, but the rest falls on the land.

The passive technology includes positioning the buildings to the sun, designing spaces to circulate natural air and also using the raw materials which have favorable thermal properties.

Active solar technology is mainly used to enhance the supply of energy from the sun and use it for practical needs. The passive solar technology itself doesn’t use the solar power directly. This technology is mainly used as a resource that replaces the use of alternate energy resource in large scale power requirement. According to their usage and power generation the active and passive technologies are called the supply side and demand side technologies respectively. Nevertheless usage of solar is beginning to prove to be very beneficial and economic.
