Tummy tuck surgery for reducing excess fat from the belly

by Kirti Saxena web enthusiast

Mostly in case of the obese persons the extra fat accumulates in the bottom part of the belly. Thus, it is quite a common phenomenon that people who are obese have a lot of excess fat in the lower region of their belly. For such people, their belly sags over their pants. This fat does not tend to go away even after you have lost considerable amount of weight. In order to get rid of such excess fat from the lower region of your tummy, it is important to go through abdominoplasty surgery, which in common language is called the tummy tuck surgery. This is very popular these days as a cosmetic surgical procedure for removal of excess fat and skin from the middle and lower parts of the abdomen.

After undergoing this surgical procedure one would be able to have a thinner waistline and an attractive flatter belly. When you wish to go through this process of fat reduction from your stomach, the surgeon would take into consideration various aspects starting from weight, age, skin type and overall health. All these factors have a major role in the outcome of the tummy tuck surgery. This method of surgery is very much popular among the females. However, the number of men going through this operational procedure is also increasing day by day. The women are seen more on the operation table for tummy tuck because of their multiple pregnancies. Anyone having excess skin may also benefit from this type of surgery.

The practice of tummy tuck has its base in the concept that the skin is very much flexible like a rubber band. Now, just like a rubber band, it can be stretched a lot and again brought back to its original condition. However, in some cases, due to stretching for a prolonged period of many years, the skin is unable to get back to its original position. It may get so much worse that it might not even react to any form of exercise or dieting.

It is an undeniable fact that tummy tuck is carried out mainly for cosmetic purposes. However, in case of some, the tummy tuck is done to strengthen their sagging abdomen muscles which are weak. If not strengthened, then it can have worse effects with severe or mild back pain. Sometimes at a laparoscopic hospital liposuction is also done along with abdominoplasty in order to remove excess fat cells deposition from the abdomen region. This cosmetic surgery procedure may be combined along with hysterectomy or tubal ligation as well. This surgical method leaves very little scarring which generally remains hidden under the swimwear or underwear.

A doctor at a laparoscopic hospital would not encourage you to go through the tummy tuck procedure for losing weight. This is for reducing fat from the belly region after you have lost considerable amount of weight. Secondly, for women who are willing to get pregnant soon must not go through tummy tuck surgery for it will again sag the belly muscles.
