When you come across error 6000 77 in QuickBooks or while opening a company file in QuickBooks; Please find below the solutions to fix this Error.

If the company file is located on an external media:

      I.        Copy the company file to a local hard drive or to the QuickBooks file server on a network.javascript:nicTemp();

     II.        Open QuickBooks and open the company file.

If the computer opening the company file is using a mapped drive

      I.        Open QuickBooks.

     II.        Choose File > Open or Restore Company in QuickBooks 2006, choose File > Open Company

    III.        Select Open a company file and click Next

   IV.        In the left pane of the Open a Company window, click My Network Places.

    V.        Double-click Entire Network and navigate to the location on your server where the company file is stored.

   VI.        Select the company file and click Open.

If your firewall software is blocking communication between computers on a network:

Temporarily disable or uninstall the firewall software on the computer hosting the company file and on the computer trying to access the company file.

Open QuickBooks and open the company file. If the file opens successfully, configure firewall and Internet security for updates and network access.

If the permission settings are incorrect for the folder hosting the company data file:

Set access permissions for QuickBooks in Windows 8/7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP

If the folder containing the company data may be damaged:

      I.        Create a new folder on your C:\ drive.

     II.        Copy/paste the company file to this newly created folder.

    III.        Refer to Solution 4 above to set up the correct permissions for the folder.

   IV.        Using QuickBooks, try to open the Company File from this new location
