• Determine the type of trek: ‘Trek’ is a generic term and people often tend to overlook the various components associated with a trekking tour. Generally, there are 3 types of treks: easy trek, moderate trek, and hard trek. An easy trek is the right choice for the first-time expedition. An easy trek is a short trek is not so high hilly terrains. However, if you crave for more, a moderate trek can serve you the best.

• Place of trek: Choosing the right place is very important. The Himalayas in the North East still remains one of the top offbeat destinations in India and it is the best place to start your adventure journeys.

• Eat Sleep Train Repeat: Trekking is the ultimate taste of your physical attributes. So, you need to be physically fit to overcome the extremities. This is why preparation is key. Build stamina. Go for jogging and do some freehand exercises. Walk for 5 kilometers every day with a bag pack. Maintaining fitness should be your motto and so avoid smoking at all cost.  As you go up oxygen levels will go down and believe me trekking is more fun than cigarettes.

• Don’t Pack Hard, Pack Smart: You won’t appreciate wandering around with a heavy bag right? Carry only what you need. Quick dry clothes and a medkit will serve you well. There are few items which are absolutely necessary when going on trekking tours such as flashlight, rope, pocket knife, sleeping bag, plastic bag, caps, sunglass, sunscreen, and trekking shoes.

• Research, Research, and Research: A trek without proper preparation is like bringing a knife to a gun battle. While blogs like this can certainly help your cause, it is advised to watch some online videos and do some research on the weather condition.
