by Taylor Haskings Word Guru Extraordinaire

Utah is mainly known for its national parks and natural beauty. When it comes to tourism, Utah is among the most popular states. Though the region also has the best snow on earth, fewer people know about the absolutely stunning sights in the Southern Utah desert areas. When you visit Southern Utah, you’ll get to enjoy spectacular outdoor recreation and dining.

Here are five stunning locations that you should visit in Southern Utah.

1. Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon is among the most beautiful places in Southern Utah. It is also among the most popular stunning locations in Southern Utah. The antelope canyon is situated in the Navajo lands, and you can visit the place while on a tour.

Two canyons make up the Antelope Canyon, and you’ll get a different experience from each one of them. The upper Antelope Canyon has falling sands, light beams, and high canyon walls. You can visit both canyons in a day, depending on your schedule and the weather in Antelope Canyon.

2. Canyonlands

This national park is situated in Southern Utah, and it is close to Moab. When you visit Canyonlands, you’ll get to enjoy the sight of the colorful landscape, which features buttes, innumerable canyons, and mesas present alongside the Colorado River and the Green River.

The Park has been divided into four parts based on their traits. The four parts of the national park include the maze, the rivers, the island in the sky, and the needles. When you visit Canyonlands, you can engage in an array of activities, including rafting, backpacking, kayaking, hiking, four-wheeling, and mountain biking.

3. Arches National Park

This national park is widely known for having natural arches that are awe-inspiring. The park also has salt beds that were deposited from the ocean, and they helped in the formation of the arches, including the Delicate Arch, which is among the famous icons in Southern Utah.

The arches are complemented by balanced rocks, fins, and towering spires. The scenery at the park is breathtaking.

4. Bryce Canyon National Park

The national park has natural amphitheaters, and they’re located along the Paunsaugunt Plateau. When you visit the park, you’ll get to enjoy a wide spectrum of colors.

Bryce Canyon turned into a national monument in the early 20th century. The park is home to over 400 plant species in more than three life zones that are based on elevation. When you visit the park, you can try out any of the 13 viewpoints, of which all of them allow you to view the amphitheaters. Also, there are hiking trails.

5. Zion National Park

Of all the national parks in Utah, none can rival the beauty of Zion National Park. The park is situated along Springdale in the southern part of Utah. Zion National Park normally protects high sandstone cliffs and incredible rock formations. The spot is suitable for backpacking, hiking, and climbing.

Unlike other parks where the visitors can look down while at the rim of the canyon, at the Zion National Park, most visitors walk on the floor of the canyon and look upwards. Additionally, there are cliffs and monoliths. The park also has a desert landscape made up of mesas, high plateaus, and sandstone canyons.

6. Moab

Are you interested in white water rafting or rock climbing? If yes, you can find each of these activities in a small town in Southern Utah known as Moab. While in Moab, you can easily access the Arches National Park and the Canyonlands National Park.

Moab is mainly known for attracting spirit seekers, funky artists, and cool people who want to enjoy life to the fullest. There are also many organic eateries, and the desert vibes are laid back. There is also a brewery. While in Utah, you can spend your entire vacation in Moab and have a memorable experience even without setting foot in a park.
