Transforming Jharkhand

The state of Jharkhand which is primarily considered a tribal state is far behind in terms of development and literacy. Therefore it is extremely important to understand the levels of literacy, development, and also the linkages between the two that is education and development. In the state, there have been many programmes and schemes that have been initiated but very few have reached the tribal children residing in Jharkhand.
There might have been reasons for the schemes and programmes not reaching the people. For instance lack of efficiency and transparency, political will and lesser attention to the entire programme. Thus it has also been fairly proven that there would not be any development in the state without education. Education is considered to be as one of the primary agents of transformation that results in development. For instance, it may play a significant role in bringing real benefits by developing the skills of the people. This development may expand livelihood opportunities and this expansion will certainly help in tackling the problem of poverty.
Therefore education in Jharkhand is of prime importance. The Jharkhand academic council, Ranchi this year had started its examination at both secondary and intermediate level on 22 February. The secondary examination ended on 8 march2013 and the later on 15 march 2013. The Jharkhand matric result will be soon out.
The state of Jharkhand came into force on 15 November, 2000. This act was passed by the Jharkhand state legislature and it was agreed by the governor of the state that was known as Jharkhand academic council (JAC) Act. Apart from all the details, the Jharkhand academic council was established for conducting examinations at the end of intermediate education, secondary education, Sanskrit education and madrasa education. It should also be noted that Jharkhand academic council, was formed by one of the most reputed department that is the HRD department government of Jharkhand.
Education is thus extremely important and Jharkhand state, which is primarily considered as a tribal state, is not exception in realizing this fact. It is important issue considering the fact that tribal’s and other people be it students were denied equal opportunity in the past by the government and the policy- makers. Therefore after a due course of time, education started on both the levels. Thus education has indeed played a greater role.

This will not only help them to attain education at certain level but will also enhance their personality development skills.
