Touches to Make the Hen Feel Extra Special

Without a doubt – the Hen Night is one of the most important nights out a girl will have! Girls go out on nights out for their Birthdays, Anniversaries, Promotions etc – but they’ll only ever have ONE Hen Night. For this reason – its important the Hen is made to feel as special as possible. You only get one chance to get this right!

Below you’ll find some great tips on things you can do to make the Hen feel that little bit extra special. The great thing is that some of these ideas take minimal effort – and really show the Hen that you’ve put thought towards her!

Note that some of these ideas can’t actually be used ON the Hen Night, but they’re things that need to be planned before the Night, so it’s worth thinking about them now.

Create a Book about the Hen

The idea behind this is simple – and can be taken to many different levels depending on the amount of time you have available. In it’s simplest form, you could ask a few of the Hens friends to bring their cameras on the Hen Night. You could then use the best photos taken on the night to create a photo book, with funny captions under each photo.

If you want to take this one step further, why not include some of her best photos from Facebook (or whatever social platform they use!). You could also make this a romantic gesture by using photos of the Hen and her future Husband. This makes a perfect joint wedding present if you’re stuck for thoughtful ideas!

Collect Newspapers of the Wedding Day

For a simple and relatively cheap idea – collect all the main newspapers released on the day of their wedding. Although this may not sound that romantic – you could take snippets out of the papers that relate to the Bride and Groom, if possible romantic snippets, and create a book/collage with them all. Things like the weather report, sports scores, politics, adverts – although may be very boring right now, will be interesting to read in 30 years time, especially when they relate to an important event in her life!

You could improve this idea by including more than just newspapers. Imagine creating a collection of memories from all the events that circulated around the “Big Day” – such as receipts and menus from meals out while planning the wedding, and booking details for the Hen Night and other associated events. This is the perfect ‘everlasting’ present – something that the Bride and Groom can look back over in years to come.

Record a Video Diary

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, why not look into hiring someone (or asking a friend who isn’t part of the Hen Party) to capture a Video of the Hen Party. This needs to be someone that has the equipment (alternatively, you could hire it) – and isn’t going to have too many drinks and end up getting a video of the floor the whole night!

Make sure the main star of the Video is the Hen! This again is a great ‘everlasting’ present, and something the Hen will no doubt enjoy watching back for many years to come.

Cook the Hen a Surprise Meal

It’s quite normal for the girls to get together at someones house before the Hen Night out, to have ‘pre-drinks’ and get ready. This makes the perfect opportunity to surprise the Hen with something. How about planning a full 3 course meal with the Hens favourite foods?

You don’t need to stop there – consider decorating the table with balloons, glitter, party poppers, photos and finger food. The more thought thats put into it, the more grateful and appreciative the Hen will be.

This is quite a simple idea to pull off – but it’s a gesture that the Hen will remember for many years. It shows that the night is all about her, and will make her feel even more special.

Give the Hen a Makeover

Following the Theme above.. and if you aren’t a very good cook – then why not get someone in to give the Hen a makeover before her big night out? No doubt the Hen will be having her Hair, Makeup and Nails done on the morning of the big day – so why not get her excited about this by giving her a preview on her Hen Night!

Ask all the girls to contribute, and then surprise the Hen before she starts getting ready with a professional Hair and Makeup Artist. This is an easy way to relax the Hen, and also give her something to get excited about.
