Tiger Hill is most known for the breathtaking sunrise views of the Kanchenjunga. Located about 11 km from the town, it takes around 30-40 minutes to reach the spot. As the sun rises from behind the mountains, you get a mesmerizing view of the snow-laden peaks of the Kanchenjunga Range and the Eastern Himalayas. If the sky is clear with no cloud cover, you can even get a glimpse of the mighty Mt. Everest.   • Japanese Temple Peace Pagoda

Built during the period of 1885 – 1985, the Peace Pagoda in Darjeeling was established by the Japanese Buddhist monk Nichidatsu Fujii. It is among the 30 pagodas built around the world to promote World Peace and harmony. The Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda welcome visitors from all different religions. Built-in pristine white, the structure has a customary Japanese style of construction. The best time to visit is during early morning and evening time, when the place echoes with chants of prayers.

  • Darjeeling Zoo

Officially known as the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, the Darjeeling Zoo is a must-visit for all wildlife lovers and nature enthusiasts. Spread over an area of area of 67.56 acres with an average elevation of 7,000 feet, this is the largest high altitude zoo in India. The zoological park is home to several rare animals like Red Panda, Tibetan Wolf, Asiatic Black Bear, Himalayan Snow Leopard, Siberian Tiger, Mountain Goat, and many more.
